£145.00

Edward Bouverie Hoyton (1900-1988) Goldsmiths College of Art under Malcolm Osbourne and Stanley Anderson, British School Rome, won Prix de Rome (1926). Taught engraving at Leeds College of Art 1934 and then became Principal of Penzance School of Art (1941). Elected to the National Society in 1931, Royal Society of British Artists 1936, Fellow of Royal Society of Artists 1958. VP and Chair of the St Ives Society of Artists from 1965 until 7 years before passing away in Newlyn in 1988. Exhibited Royal Academy.
His West Country work was predominantly done in the early 1930's and then again from 1950 onwards.
Cornish School. This is an etching titled in pencil to lower margin as St Michael's Mount and signed in pencil to the lower margin with RA, FRSA after his name. As this etching bears his FRSA letters, it can be dated as post 1958 as that was the year he gained fellowship. Small fishing boats are pulled up on the shoreline in the foreground with a figure loading fishing pots. The image looks as though the artist was positioned down on the beach somewhere below Turnpike Road in Marazion.
Image within etching plate impression marks 25 x 39.5 cm, glazed frame 33 x 48 cm. The paper has visible wood based composition (small flecks within the paper) and overall has a toned appearance. There is minor undulation. Hand colouring is in blues and greens. There is glass reflection in the photos - apologies.

Shipping Advice to UK Mainland:
The price includes shipping to UK Mainland addresses.
As this contains glass please note shipping in its intact state is at the buyer’s risk (we do pack well but cannot avoid parcel companies using mechanical sorting methods). You may ask us remove the glass prior to shipping if preferred. You may also enquire about meeting us in a mutually agreeable location for a personal handover in one of the locations outlined on our Handover page.

Shipping Advice for UK locations off the Mainland: Please ask us before buying if you are UK offshore islands or remote: Isle of Man, Isle of Wight, Channel Islands, Scottish Highlands and Islands /remote locations etc.
The free postage we offer is by Royal Mail, UPS or Parcelforce. Some services or parcel sizes are not available (or are at extra cost) for UK remote addresses so always contact us before buying to check what is possible. Purchases made from these locations without contacting us first will be cancelled by us as we may be unable to fulfil them.
We do not currently post to Northern Ireland.

Shipping to the USA: This in-house managed site only offers a price to ship to UK Mainland addresses as calculation of varying sales taxes across all USA states is too difficult to manage per item, but most items can be shipped to the USA from our MastheadArt eBay page where sales tax is managed within the eBay buying process.
Contact us and we can send you a link to purchase the item on eBay.
We do not currently ship to any other countries.
For USA shipping we would recommend asking us to remove the glass and /or the frame and glass, and have it sent as unframed art. Discuss with us using the Contact page.
