Mid-late 19th century Large Watercolour Painting Harbour and Figures Landscape

Mid-late 19th century watercolour painting, exquisitely detailed and by a fine hand. This strikes us as being very much the style of Ebenezer Wake Cook (1843 - 1926), this bears a striking similarity to similar works by Cook.

We briefly removed this from its frame to clean the glass (it was filthy when we purchased it) and check the back for a name but found it had been firmly pasted to a board so we are unable to see any inscription which may have been made to the back of the work. This is a shame as it clearly excellent quality. Whilst the painting was out of its frame for glass cleaning we took the opportunity to take some of the photos.

We do pack well but this is heavy with a large piece of glass, we cannot avoid parcel companies using mechanical sorting methods. This item with a fragile frame and large sheet of glass will be particularly vulnerable to damage in mechanical parcel sorting depots, so shipping intact will be at your own risk, or we urge you to enquire about meeting us in a mutually agreeable location for a personal handover in one of the locations outlined on our Handover page, or to have the work removed unframed and sent as just a loose painting - we can negotiate a reduced price for that, just contact us before buying so we can adjust the price.
